Travel Information for Now Northwich Festival


  • Location and Accessibility
    • The festival takes place in Northwich Town Centre, which is in Cheshire, Northwest England.
    • Accessible via public transport (train and bus).


  • Train Travel

                  Northwich Town Centre, where Now Northwich takes place is about twenty                                               

              minutes by foot or wheelchair from Northwich Train Station.

               Last trains on Saturday 3 May: 

  • To Manchester: 23:25
  • To Chester: 23:05

                  Check National Rail for updates before travelling.


  • Bus Services

              Buses drop passengers near the festival locations.

  • Plan your bus journey and download timetables by clicking here.
    • Nightlife Express (from Winsford) runs Friday and Saturday nights, with the last return at 11:15 p.m. Other Nightlife Express services can be found here.

 


The town centre is expected to be very busy during Now Northwich, so using public transport or alternative travel methods is encouraged.

The following locations offer accessible parking:

  • RECOMMENDED: Barons Quay (ASDA) Car Park – CW9 5LD
  • Chester Way/Brockhurst Street (Memorial Hall) – CW9 5QJ
  • Crum Hill (Victoria Club) – CW9 5JD
  • Central Palace Drive - CW9 5DW

Where to Find Programmes: 

Festival programmes will be distributed in venues across Northwich before the festival. They will also be:

  • Available on the day of the festival.
  • Handed out by event stewards.


On-Site Information: 

  • Each performance site will have a blackboard listing all performances and showtimes.


Live Updates: 

  • Upcoming performances taking place throughout the day will be announced on Now Northwich Facebook and Instagram.


Now Northwich Festival Visitor Assistance


Stewards (in high-visibility jackets) will be available to:

  • Provide festival programmes.
  • Help locate toilets.
  • Offer guidance and answer queries.


First Aiders & Security will be on-site for assistance if needed.


Ask a steward for information or any help you may need.


Now Northwich is a FREE Family-Friendly  Event:

  • The festival is designed with children and families in mind.
  • There are free creative activities for children, parents and guardians.


Baby Changing Facilities:

  • Baby changing facilities are provided at Northwich Leisure Centre.


Festival Site Toilets: 

Public toilets at Now Northwich are behind The Odeon Cinema,  Barons Quay, 1 Weaver Point Way, Northwich, Cheshire, CW9 5FT. 


Accessible Facilities: 

  • Mobiloo (with an accessible toilet and adult-sized changing bench) is located at River Park.
  • Baby change facilities are available at BRIO Leisure,  Northwich Memorial Court, Chesterway, Northwich, CW9 5QJ 
  • An accessible toilet is located at The Salvation Army, Tabley Street, Northwich, CW9 5DP.  


  • The route to all performances is accessible for wheelchair users.
  • Stewards are available to assist people with access requirements.
  • An accessible toilet and adult-sized changing bench is located at River Park. 
  • Assistance is provided for individuals with reduced mobility to find a suitable viewing point.

A limited number of self-propelled wheelchairs and a mobility scooter are available to hire from Ableworld Northwich. Early booking is advised.

Now Northwich 2025 festival is filled with dance and street arts, which are performance-based, physical to watch, and inclusive for everyone.


UNITY - Gorilla Circus

12pm & 6pm, The Meadow (near H&M)

Both performances will be British Sign Language BSL interpreted.

A big circus show about community and hope. With aerial circus performers, lots of dancers, music and poetry You can watch up close in a big open space. 



Now Northwich recognises the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower. 

Wear your Sunflower lanyard with pride!


The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Scheme aims to raise awareness that not all disabilities are visible, including learning difficulties, mental health conditions, and sensory or mobility impairments.


  • The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower discreetly indicates that the wearer may need extra support, help, or time. It may be worn as a lanyard, bracelet, or pin badge.


  • Accessible Northwich: 
    • Northwich was one of the first UK towns to join the global scheme, becoming 'Sunflower Friendly' in 2016.
    • Northwich town centre organisations and businesses make Northwich inclusive and welcoming.


  • Support at the Festival: 
    • Festival stewards will recognize the Sunflower Lanyard and provide assistance when needed.
    • A limited number of free Hidden Disabilities Sunflower lanyards are available at the festival. Please ask a steward if you require one.

Northwich is a Makaton Friendly Town

What is Makaton? 

Makaton is a simplified form of sign language designed to assist people with communication difficulties. It uses a combination of symbols (pictures), signs (gestures), and speech.


Makaton at Now Northwich Festival:

  • Directional signage around the town will include Makaton symbols.
  • Many festival team members have received basic Makaton training.


Northwich’s Makaton Recognition:

  • Northwich was officially named the first town in the Northwest and only the third in the UK to achieve ‘Makaton Friendly’ status. Read more here: https://visitnorthwich.co.uk/northwich-is-makaton-friendly/

 A Quiet Space/Zone is available for anyone seeking a break from the festival.


  • Location: The Salvation Army, Tabley Street, Northwich, CW9 5DP  (near Sainsbury’s car park). The space is on one level and is accessible.
  • Open 12pm to 4pm.
  • An Accessible toilet is also available in this quiet space.


There are two public spaces at the Quiet Space/Zone: 


  • The community space is ideal for light refreshments and chatting. 
  • The church sanctuary is peaceful and suitable for prayer (all faiths welcome), quiet contemplation. meditation and mindfulness.
