Connect yourself with nature as you travel around Now Northwich on the ‘Connecting Routes’ Interactive Trail.
Follow the route around the town centre, taking part in creative activities as you go. From pop up performances, butterfly making, circus skills and more, there’s something for everyone to try or explore.
As you pass by each ‘Nature Station’, collect a stamp for the chance to win a prize at the end of the route.
(Oh, and don’t forget to snap a selfie or two along the way – share on social media along with the hashtag #NN2024 to form part of our online Community Wall).
(Opposite the Entertainer)
Create a freeze frame image of something from nature with your friends and family (or, as a challenge, by yourself!) using your body to mark the start of the journey.
Share your image on social media; use the hashtag #NN24 and remember to tag @nownorthwich.
Family friendly arts and craft workshop inspired by Ella Mesma’s performance “Rainbow Butterfly", where you can design your own butterfly. Share your design on social media; use the hashtag #NN24 and remember to tag @nownorthwich. No booking required, drop-in any time.
How are themes of community, connection and nature expressed in movements? Find out in these performances by: Step into Capoeira, MM Northwich, Keep On Dancing Storyhouse, DS Winsford and Ben Wilson. Watch a series of performances that begin at 2.30pm to earn your stamp at the station.
Head to Apple Market Place to leave a positive message on a Now Northwich ribbon. Shout about someone special, share a treasured memory, express how you're feeling or your hopes for the future... the choice is yours. Share your message to receive a stamp.
Outside the Old Library
Stumble upon a wonderful 'World of Workshops' in front of the old Northwich Library. From Hip Hop sessions at 2.30pm to Juggle Jams at 4pm (both with Simple Cypher - the company that brings you 'Roll Play') to taster workshops with the Young Producers (drop-in all day), try your hand at something new.
Collect an Activity Sheet from any of the Nature Stations or download and print yourself in advance here:
The Young Producers are a group of 14-21 year olds from the local area who are interested in the arts and connecting with the community. An initiative from Cheshire Dance, the programme provides young people with a unique, free opportunity to get real, hand-on experience working behind the scenes in the arts industry.
For the Now Northwich festival, the Young Producers work with the Cheshire Dance team to ensure 'youth voice' is embedded across the event. They help us to understand what our younger audience at Now Northwich expects - and helps us to achieve it.
For 2024 the Young Producers have designed 'Connecting Routes' with families in mind, giving visitors a participatory experience to help them immerse themselves further into all that the festival has to offer.
To find out more about the Young Producers Programme - or, if you are a young person that would like to join the group - please click here or get in touch.
